the road least traversed
I woke up at 4 AM last Saturday. Initially, I planned to run on January 1st, to kicked off the start of the year. Unfortunately, the weather that time did not cooperate. It rained the whole day and I did not want the risk of catching a cold. I told my sister ( who’s been my companion during my runs) that if it will not rain the next day, we’ll head out. True enough, there was no rain although the pavement was still wet from the previous day’s downpour.
Goosebumps appeared all over my body while I took a shower. The water was freaking cold, especially at dawn. Funny though, I’ve grown to like it already. I was done in a jiffy.
I forgot to measure the exact distance of this loop. Anyway, I tried to run ( or to put it more correctly, run in part) longer than the 5K distance. I was able to logged 3.27 miles. After almost an hour, I had to cut short my run because it started raining again. And headed home.
my reward
I have mentioned in my earlier post my penchant for watching the sky change colors when the sun is about to go up. This may sound like an overused cliché, but nothing work wonders for me after every run( of course, don’t forget water ), and that is to watch the sky, hinting the start of a new day.
